What Do You See

“Our eyes only see and our ears only hear what our brain is looking for.”  Dan Sullivan

Are you living the life you want?  Have you taken the leap into changing yourself?  If not, are you willing to begin now?  If not, why not?

You believe you are not good enough, not smart enough, not ready enough (pick one or more!).  Why do you believe that when there is so much available to each of us today?

It seems difficult to find what is right for you but maybe that is because we think we can do it, or find it, in an instant.  It really is a life long journey for most of us.  It is not a sprint.

Our brains are inundated with millions upon millions of bits of data every second.  How do we stay sane?  Our brains are able to selectively delete data that it deems unnecessary.  It looks for patterns and as data comes to it, it says ‘is this like the others?’  If the answer is yes, it stays.  If the answer is no, it deletes it.

What this means is that what you are looking for you are bound to find.  However, you will not even see that which you are not looking for.  While this is good for your brain, it may not be so good for you if you are wanting change in your life.

I often use the story of the person who was so excited that they traded in their blue car for a shiny new white car.  They said to the dealer that they were so excited because they were going to be unique with their white car because no one has a white car.  The first time they went to the mall, they were totally shocked to find that when they came out to find their car, all they saw was a sea of white.

How had they not seen this before?  They were deleting out all but the blue cars because that was what they were looking for.  You see what you want to see, or that for which you are looking.

What are you looking for that you are not seeing?  Or are you believing that things are not possible because all you can see is failure?

Here’s a few steps for you to take:

  1. Decide to live your dreams.  No, I mean really decide.  You have probably already been on a journey to improve your outlook but you may still be around those who aren’t on the journey with you.  Are you fearful you will return to your old ways – that which is easy and less demanding?
  2. Decide this time will be different.  Stop believing that the past exists.  It doesn’t.  You cannot go back.  The only way is forward.
  3. Believe that nothing is impossible.  You will start seeing those things that you thought did not exist.  You will have opportunities appear.
  4. By Deciding and Believing you are expanding your consciousness.  Things will change because you are changing what your brain is deleting.  These opportunities were always around but you could not see.

Now you can see what you have decided to see.  There are many opportunities for you.  Just decide.  Just believe.

Open your eyes.  Open your ears.

You will be surprised at what you see!
