Hiring Millennials

Hiring Millennials

“Do not hire a man who does your work for money, but him who does it for the love of it.” Henry David Thoreau

Hiring young people is different than ever before. Millennials have been given treated as if their every whim is important to the world.

Schools did it, parents did it, and now you are expected to continue on giving in to their every whim. While most of us laugh, it is causing businesses some serious issues.

Businesses are starting to stand up to them and show them the door for their inability to show up for work, work while they are there and expect lots of money to not work.

What’s a business owner to do?

Make sure you have employee policies in writing, no matter how small or large you are.

Make sure you have the new employee read and sign all forms related to work requirements and consequences.

Hire because they have a passion for what you are doing.  They want to grow.  And then groom them.
