Hiring & Employee Tips

“Everyone enjoys doing the kind of work for which he is best suited.” – Napoleon Hill

At some point in every business owners plans there comes a time that it is necessary to hire employees.

Have you lost sleep over that last hire you did?

Everyone thinks they want to hire the best, the brightest, the most talented, and the most experienced.

What if the position you are offering doesn’t need that?  You have just hired a bored, over-paid, over-talented, angry person.

Don’t feel bad. You are not alone. Many business owners are not really qualified to hire.

I don’t say that to be mean. but we hire in our own likeness unless we have training and understanding how not to do that.

Here’s a little secret…

If you hire in your own likeness, you have just hired yourself. Do you really want an entrepreneur working for you? You know what entrepreneurs are like – they don’t want to take orders, they want to create new things and they want to take over your company.

Don’t call me crazy, but isn’t that insanity?

Each position you hire for has different qualifications and different personality types required to be not only functional but good at it. It is also important that they fit in the organization as a whole.

The better you are at hiring, the longer the person will stay, the happier everyone will be working with them, and the less they will cost you (because salary is the least of your costs.)
